Lakeside Office

Description

We were commissioned to design the office for TCRC Group in Dubai. Situated in Jumeirah Lake Towers, a community that is characterised by high rise buildings spread across manmade lakes, the office space boasts a stunning view of the renowned Dubai skyline. The panoramic waterfront promenade and breath-taking landscapes of Jumeriah Lake Towers along with its eclectic mix of luxurious residences, dining venues and offices, adds to the charm of Lakeside Office. Our brief was to create a space that is uniquely beautiful so that the employees are inspired and thrive in the environment. The natural light flooding through the south-west facing glass walls/windows adds to the sublime beauty of the 1,300 sq ft area. During the design layout and planning sessions, we focused on ensuring that space allocation is not partial to the private and collaborative zones. We did not want the view and natural light to be claimed solely by the private office and meeting room. It was this notion that prompted us to integrate an open plan workstation into the design which occupies the south-west section of the office. Vaastu, the traditional Indian architectural science, has played a prominent role in the design, space allocation, layout and programming. We contemplated an industrial theme for the design, which was not only bold and unique, but a concept that is unexplored for office spaces. Our client was mildly surprised by the idea we presented during our collaborative and deliberation session but his unwavering faith in our imaginative capabilities went a long way in procuring the must awaited nod of approval.

Spatially, the office layout was designed in a manner that inculcates the Vaastu principles with an equally dominant focus on ensuring that the natural light and the spectacular view of the Dubai skyline are undisturbed. The private office and meeting room surround the central core that quarters 8 workstations. The layout planning also features amenities such as reception area, lounge area and pantry. Abstract raw materials with natural textures and deep tones add to the allure of the design and gives the space a tasteful elegance. Instead of following a “one size fits all” approach, we have harnessed the collective imagination of our team to create a bespoke design for our client.
